This marks our third year working with Long Miles Coffee who has direct relationships with farmers in and around their two washing stations. Long Miles Coffee was started by Ben and Kristy Carlson and their family has lived and worked there for years to increase quality and bring recognition to top quality lots from Burundi.
Farmers on Munyinya hill bring coffee cherry to the Bukeye washing station. Quality is top notch after years of efforts to improve farming, picking and processing have resulted in multiple cup of excellence top 10 finishes. This coffee excites us in a major way because we get to see the importance of each person involved in the process of creating a dynamic coffee. These lots have reminded us of red wine in the past and we get blackberry up front with sweet shortbread and honey on the finish. Complex from start to finish and full of flavor.
